This is a list of closed churches within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany. Starting in 2006, the Diocese started the "Called to BE Church" initiative. This initiative shrank the number of parishes down to its current level of 129 in order to combat declining church enrollment, priest shortages, and demographics within the Diocese by way of canonical suppression (i.e., merging parishes and/or closing churches outright)〔(【引用サイトリンク】 title=churchs history )〕 ==Albany City Deanery== *Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary - Established in 1869; final building erected in 1892 after the original structure was burned. Deconsecrated in 1963, as the building was one of two churches razed to make room for the Empire State Plaza project.
